THE NEW YORK CITY PIZZA RUN
Brooklyn, NY | September 16, 2018
Love to run? Love to eat pizza? Ever wanted to do both at the same time? Look no further than the 9th annual New York City Pizza 5K! This event is just one of the millions of events around the country that Gravy Analytics analyzes to deliver its real-world consumer intelligence.
The race was founded in 2009 by Jason Feirman, who decided to combine two of New York City’s core characteristics – eating pizza and racing around – into a one-of-a-kind New York City experience. In case you’re into more than just running and eating pizza, a portion of the proceeds from the race is donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). The JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes research.
The NYC Pizza Run 5K will take place on September 16th in Brooklyn’s Fort Greene Park. The race is completed by running three laps around the park, with runners eating a slice of pizza at the pizza pit stop at the end of lap one and two.
