Consumer Opinions on Location Data Collection & Privacy

A 2022 survey examining how U.S. consumers are reacting to the increase in personal data collection.

Consumer data collection, and particularly location data collection, is here to stay. More data will be generated as more businesses move more of their customer experience online. Our report, Consumer Opinions on Location Data Collection & Privacy, investigates how consumers are reacting to the increased collection of personal data.

We wanted to know how U.S. consumers are reacting to increased data collection, and whether they understand when and why their location data is being collected, as well as how their data will be used in the future. We polled 1,000 U.S. consumers over the age of 18 about their attitudes toward the collection and use of consumer location data to learn more.

Are you aware that many mobile apps collect a user’s location information to use internally to provide the best experience to the user and/or to sell to outside companies?
