Shopping mall culture has always been a part of the American identity. Mall attendance has changed over the years, especially in 2020. However, as the economy is recovering, the mall will continue to evolve beyond its roots to appeal to today’s consumers. 

At Gravy, we were interested in understanding how the coronavirus pandemic impacted mall attendance. Shopping mall analytics is a great way to see how malls have been impacted by changes in consumer behavior due to COVID-19. We chose to analyze Mall of America, the largest mall in the U.S., to see how foot traffic has changed from 2019 to 2020.
