Q4 2022 Consumer Trends Report

In our final consumer trends report for 2022, we look at how foot traffic has changed in Q4 across 10 key place categories, exploring everything from Accommodations and Transportation to Shopping and Entertainment. Where did consumers spend their time and money in Q4 2022, and how did it change over the last year? Was there a return to in-person shopping, and if so, which stores seem to be capturing a greater share of consumer foot traffic and dollars? Were U.S. consumers busy entertaining this holiday season with even more theaters, ballrooms, and restaurants packed to capacity?

Today’s consumers are once again shopping in brick-and-mortar stores. Foot traffic to Shopping destinations was 9% higher in Q4 2022.
